NELSON RUGBY UNION
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING The weekly meeting of the Nelson Rugby Union Management Committee was held last evening. There were present Messrs E. R. Blewett, president, in the chair, H. Ilogg (vice-president), F. McDowell (Pirates), 11. Silcock (Schools), 11. Richardson (Nelson), R. J. Eyre (Old Boys), A. Kitching (Rival), D. Merritt (treasurer), H. Brough (Referees). L. Charlctt and M. Stanton were added to the Rival junior classification list and N. Thompson to the same Club’s senior list. Il was decided that no reclassifications be granted after next Monday. Tlie Nelson Hockey Association was granted permission to train on Trafalgar Park in the evening if suitable arrangements can be made.
The City Council notified the Union that it was unable to make a reduction in the lighting charges for the flood lights at Trafalgar Park. Further arrangements were made regarding the Nelson team’s Seddon Shield challenge. The schools delegate was granted permission to play two Town v. Country school representatives matches, the first to be at Richmond next Friday and the other to be played in town on the following Thursday. Mr 11. Brough was appointed manager. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY The fixtures for next Saturday are as follows: Senior Rival v. Pirate, Park 1. 3 p.m. Nelson v. Waimea, Richmond, 3 p.m. Junior (special round). College v. Old Boys, Park 1, 1.45 p.m. Nelson v. Pirate, Brightwater, 3 p.m. Rival a bye. Third Grade (second round) Nelson v. Waimea, Park 2, 3 p.m. Wakatu v. Rival, Park 2, 1.45 p.m. College A v. Old Boys (Ist round), College, 3 p.m.
