A well-known minister of the Angli- ! r, an , the Rev. Arthur Henry Sedgwick, died recently at Onehunga, > aged 78 years. He was born in England, came to New Zealand when 18 years of age, and studied at the Treo . logical College at Bishopdale, Nelson. ; He was ordained a deacon in 1878, and appointed a curate at Nelson Hie same year. The following year ho was ordained to the priesthood and appointed vicar of St. Stephen’s, his parish embracing Reefton, Grey Valley, and Upper Buller. In 1884 he became vicar of t’ne Epiphany Church at Takaka, and three years later went to Holy Trinity Church, Picton, where he remained for 23 years. In 1890, for health reasons, he went to England, and while there was appointed curate at Cambridge. He returned to his charge in 1905, but, his health again breaking down, he once more went to England. He returned to New Zealand, but for health reasons re tired from active ministry in 1907. Mr Sedgwick went to live in’ Onehunga in 1909, and frequently assisted at the service at St. Peter’s, St. James’, Mangcre, and St. John’s, Royal Oak. Mr Sedgwick never married.
