INTERESTING RUGBY FIXTURES
In view of the tour of New Zealand by the Australian team this season, commencing with the match against Otago on 22nd August, a glance at the results of the 1929 -All Blacks’ tour ol Australia will prove interesting. The New Zealand team was as follows:—C. G. Porter (captain), E. R. G. Sleere, K. Reid, W. Reside, R. G. McWilliams, B. Palmer, A. Mahoney, A. I. Cottrell, C. Sonntag, R. Souter, J. Tuck, E. T. C. It will be seen from the list given that the Australians have not a' very hard proposition ahead of them lo better the 1929 New Zealanders’ record. It is probable that their most formidable problems will be Canterbury, on 29th August; Wellington, on sth September; Maoris, on 9th September; and Now Zealand, at Auckland, on 12th September. Everyone in New Zealand hopes that among those in the Aussie side will he Towers, the Queensland centre threequarter ; Dr. A. Ross, New South Wales, full-back; Fold .and Cerutti, the giant forwards who played such magnificent games against New Zealand in 1929. The results in the tour of that year are :
