WAKEFIELD
FARMERS’ UNION MEETING The annual meeting of the Wakefield branch of the N.Z.F.U. was held at the Public Library. The vice-president, Mr L. A. Higgins, presided, there being eight members present. The balance-sheet, showing a credit balance of £9 4$ 4d, was held oyer for adoption until next meeting, owing to the auditor being out of tho district. Officers elected for the ensuing year were as follows: President, Mr L. A. Higgins; vice-presidents, Messrs P. A. Baigent and J. E. Wells; secretary, Mr C. C. Bird (re-elected); treasurer, Mr J. T. Eden (re-elected); executive committee, Messrs G. Boddington, W. Fairhall, F. D. Higgins, and B. Eves; auditor, Mr F. E. Slmttlcworth; delegate to provincial conference, Mr C. C. Bird. Remits for the provincial conferenca were fully discussed. It was resolved that th ecommitteo arrange to hold meetings on topics of interest’ to farmers during the winter months. A vote of thanks was recorded to offL cers for their past services.
