OLD BOYS V. ATHLETIC A FAIR SCORE The second round match Old Boys v. Athletic was commenced at the Park on Saturday, but where Old Boys scored 430 in the afternoon in the first round, it took them all day to get 251 on this occasion. With three down for (id they were not in a good position and should have been in a worse one as Alexander was then badly missed (irst ball, but profiting by the let off, (he fourth wicket then added 85 but tln> seventh wicket still fell at 104. The last three wickets, however, put on a very valuable addition of 87. Orton and Eckhoff hit up .‘ll for the ninth but the latter and Clarke, a junior, put on a lively 35 for the last wicket, 'fhe 07 made off the bat by the last three included 13 fours. JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP ATHLETIC DEFEAT TAHUNA A CENTURY TO BAIRD On Saturday afternoon at Trafalgar Park, Athletic secured a four-point win against Tahuna on the first innings. Athletic won the toss and batting first declared with seven wickets down for 249 runs. Tahuna were dismissed for 54 runs and in the second innings had lost four wickets for 68 when stumps were drawn. Baird played very forceful cricket and soon had 111 not out on when Athletic declared. The following were the chief scores:— For Athletic: L. Delaney 50, W.
