EFFECT ON AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) VICTORIA, 20th February. The British Columbia automobile importers plan to • send representatives to the Government claiming that the industry faces ruin as the result of the announcement of a 20 per cent, increase in tariff on United States’ automobiles. OTTAWA, 20th February. T( is reported that four of the leading United States’ automobile manufacturers plan the establishment of Canadian branch factories as a result of the new tariff.
