EARTHQUAKE RECORDS
NEW ZEALAND AND COCOS ISLANDS (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 21st February, 10.25 a.m.) PERTH. This Day. The State astronomer. Dr. Curlewis, discussing the New Zealand earthquakes. mentions that there is a curious apparent connection between New Zealand and Cocos Island, and says that a ’quake was recorded at 2 o’oclock yesterday morning, the seismograph swinging three, inches. The oscillations indicated that the location was in the Cocos area. The recent big shakes in New Zealand were followed bv disturbances at Cocos.
