WHEAT AND FLOUR POSITION
PRIME MINISTER TO MAKE FULL STATEMENT (By Telegraph—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. An intimation that he would make, a full statement regarding the sliding scale of duties on wheat and flour during the short session of Parliament next n onth was given by the Prime Minister. “No doubt,” he said, “with tho general fall in the prices of commodities all round and tho reductions in costs there will have to he some reductions not only in the price of wheat hut, in tho milling and baking industry as well.” Mr Forbes said that already iie had set in train an investigation of t'ie wheat and flour position by the DeparlmmL of Industries and Commerce and the ‘Cus toms Department, and he hoped shortly to have the whole of the facts before him.
