TRIBUTE TO LOCAL UNEMPLOYMENT COMMITTEES
During their recent tour of the Dominion members of the Unemployment Board found that the Local Unemployment Committees everywhere-were do ing splendid work in furthering the efforts of the Board to provide work foi the unemployed, and reported their views to the Board meeting this week. The chairman of the Board (the Hon. S. G. Smith) expressed his gratification to learn of the effective voluntary cooperation of the committees, and at his suggestion the following resolution of thanks was passed: — “That in consequence of the value to the Unemployment Board of the work of the Local Unemployment Committees as revealed to Board members during their visit to many districts, the Board desires to place on record its sincere thanks to the officers and members of all 1 oval Unemployment Committees throughout New Zealand for the hearty manner in which they are co-operating with the Board in its endeavour to cope with unemployment.” ■
