Mr A. G. Lash, who has been on the staff of the Takaka Bank of New Zealand for the last four years, went to Wellington last evening to report to head office, with a likelihood of being transferred to a North Island branch. Mr Lash is a keen athlete and has represented Golden Bay-Motueka at Rugby football in Seddon Shield matches.

The Rev. Ray Dudley, M.A., who has been, supplying for the past five weeks for the Rev. P. N. Knight at John’s Church, will conclude his ministry at Nelson to-morrow. Mr Dudley, who was bora in’ Fiji, of Indian parents, was adopted and educated by Miss Dudley, a missionary to the Indians at Fiji. He is at present a student at Trinity Theological College, Auckland.

Mr H. G. West has been appointed instructor in accountancy at the Nelson Technical School evening classes. Mr West is a member, by examination, of N.Z. Society of Accountants, and has also completed all his examinations for the Australian Institute of Secretaries.

Mr Humphrey Bishop, the well known entrepreneur, has sufficiently recovered from his recent indisposition to be able to take charge of his company's performance this evening. The funeral of the late Air G. W. Hazleton, which took place yesterday afternoon at Nelson Cemetery, was largely attended. The service at the graveside was conducted bv the Rev. Dean Askew. The chief mourners were Mrs G. W. Hazleton and her son Jack, and Mr Alec Hazleton, brother, of Wellington. The pall bearers were Messrs Davis (Chief Postmaster, Nelson), Veitch (Wellington), Hill, Blewett, Colvin and Strang, all of the Post Office staff, Nelson. Considerably over one hundred messages of sympathy and condolence were received bv the family throughout the day and floral emblems were sent from many parts of New Zealand.
