ASSISTING THE RELIEF FUNDS The Waiinca West Literary and Debating Society, in order to" assist the Earthquake Funds, presented the playlets which were so much enjoyed on the sth November last, when they were first staged. The large and appreciative audience, gathered from all parts of the district, including Nelson, greatly enjoyed the programme, which was wholly rendered by members of the Society. Details of the plays have already .appeared in “The Mail.*’ The supporting items were very well rendered as the audience showed hv their applause. Among the performers were Misses M. Gallagher and T. Palmer (instrumental duet)," Miss B. O’Hara (recitation) ancl Messrs 0. O’Hara, A. Sinclair, G. Kempthorne and S’. O’Hara (songs), Mesdames S’ O’Hara and A. Sinclair ably fulfilled the duties of accompanists. As the result of the entertainment the Earthquake Fund will benefit to the extent of £6 2s.
