VICTORIA DEFEAT WEST INDIES IRONMONGER UNPLAYABLE ON EAST WICKET CONSTANTINE ONLY WEST INDIES BOWLER (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Ist December. The cricket match between the West Indies and Victoria was resumed in delightful weather and on a fast wicket. Constantine, who had recovered from ids strain, bowled with great paco and speedilv wound up the innings. Ho dismissed Barnett and Hassett in successive deliveries, and two overs later dismissed Darling and Alexander witli the sixth and eighth balls respectively. Constantino's iigures for the morning were five overs, one maiden, 22 runs, four wickets.. He showed his versatility by catching Ironmonger brilliantly at third slip. The last five wickets wero dismissed iu 44 minutes, a totally unexpected slump. It is obvious already that Constantine will have to bear a great load of responsibility throughout the tour, as the other bowlers appear to be lacking in sting. The visitors' second innings proved a debacle, the batsmen being all at sea with Ironmonger who maintained an accurate length, made paco off the wicket, and turned the ball deceptively. Ho bowled fourteen overs, three of which were maidens.

Headley was again attractive, batting for 54 minutes, and hitting three boundaries. Hunte and Grant gave neat displays for 80 minutes. The visitors' downfall was probably duo to the wicket being much faster than on Saturday, but they will do better when they are more accustomed to •.he vagaries of Australiaii wicKets. The attendance was 10,000, and the gate £3OO. . The ; West Indies innings lasted f 5 minutes. • Scores:—
