LIQUOR TO YOUTHS
MAGISTRATE’S STRONG COMMENT (By Telegraph—Presj Association) AUCKLAND This Day. On the evening of Labour Day a constable was attacked and injured by a number of young men. In consequence of a thorough round-up four men are now spending a month in gaol and three have been fined £5. Of the three one spent eight days in gaol on remand. During the hearing of the cases to-day the Magistrate- commented strongly on the fact that accused, several of whom were under 21 years of age, had obtained liquor at an hotel.’
