In the distance can bo heard the bands of the various regiments quartered near the camp. A detachment of New Zealanders arrive and are received with shouts of welcome, and it is not long before an impromptu concert is under way, a marked preference being shown for. the old favourites such as "Sweet Genevieve." and "There is a Tavern in the Town." During the concert, however, a V.C. arrives and is played into camp to the strains of "See the Conquering Hero Comes." At last night falls and in the distance is heard the "Last Post" followed" by "Lights Out." The scene changes again, at daybreak the next day, tho "Reveille" is heard again, and it is not long before tho camp is in motion prior to the troops' embarkation ■ from Southampton for service overseas, the departure being accompanied by cheers and shouts of farewell.
