Mr Horatio Everett has been reelected chairman of the Motueka Harbour Board.
The many friends of Miss Molly Noedl, late of Richmond, will learn with regret of her death at the Pahiatua Hospital. She left Richmond about 18 months ago to commence her profession as a nurse at Picton Hospital transferring later to Masterton and Paniatua. Whilst nursing at the latter hospital she contracted scarlet fever and pneumonia, which by ending fatally has robbed the profession of a capable young nurse, who was only in her 19th year.
In a letter published in Saturday’s “Mail,” Mr C. P. Staunard said he was informed that Mr Duncan, Chairman of the Harbour Board, “contemplates a visit to the Old Country shortly.” Upon enquiry from Mr Duncan, we learn that Mr Stannard’s information is quite erroneous.
