Jones laul the approach putt dead, while \ oignl was again short and had to hole out with a, lougish putt for a halt and lo save the match. Despite the enormous crowd, there was breathless silence. Voiglil- putted, blit just lipped the hole. Both players, embracing, were almost carried olt by protecting policemen. Roger Wet bored beat \V. b. fTarUo.y, 2 and 1, and will meet Jones in the final on Saturday.
JONES DEFEATS WETHERED LONDON. 31st May. In the amateur golf final Jones beat Wethered.
