Cable news has been received that Dr. L. A. Bennett, of Christchurch. has obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, England. He is an Old Boy of Nelson College and elder son of Mrs A. Bennett, now of Christchurch, and the. late Mr John Bennett, of Murchison. Mr M. Jackson, formerly of the Nelson Post Oflico staff, but lately accountant at the Dunedin office, has retired on superannuation after 40 years' service. Mr and Mrs Jacksori'are spending the winter in Nelson.
