The Empire Congress of Chambers of Commerce met lo decide on the meeting place for 1933. Canada, Australia, West Indies, and New Zealand extended official invitations. After considerable discussion all others withdrew in favour of New Zealand, which was then unanimously selected. The Chambers of Commerce Congress resolved to call on the Governments of the Empire to formulate an economic policy of closer co-operation, and appoint a commission on which there should be business and economic experts to draw up a scheme for such co-operation.
