LIFTED FROM POVERTY AN ENGLISHMAN'S ROMANCE Mr Peter Aldridge, who left Wagga, New South Wales, the other day on receipt of communications from a firm of solicitors at Melbourne, found his circumstances altered with dramatic suddenness. He became very rich alter spending some years in tiie '\\ agga district working for Cl a week and Ids keep. Mr Aldridge went straight from Cambridge University to the trenches in. Plunders, and saw four and a-half years service, and then came to Australia. Recently he had been down in luck, and glad to take shelter at nights under llampden Bridge. In February cables came from England to Australia making inquiries for Mr Aldridge, but it took three months to find him. He was heir to ail estato in the neighbourhood of Horsham, in Sussex, and a very large income. Ho went by aeroplane to Fremantle and caught a steamer for London.
