Ihe Rev. j. Dawson Madill. M.A. of Blenheim is spending a few days in Nelson and will conduct the services in Trinity Church to-morrow. The Rev. D. McCosli, M.A. of Trinity Church left Nelson to-day for' Blenheim where lie will conduct the Anniversary Services in St. Andrew’s Church and take part in the anniversary social on Tuesday evening. <■ Wainui House visitors include: Mr and Airs F. W. Atkin (Christchurch), -Mrs E. Cohen and Mrs Salek (Wellington), Miss Shepherd and Miss D.. S. Dudding (Palmerston North), Mr and Mrs Bell and Air A. AlcFarlane (Akaroa), Airs L. N. AlacCau (Wellington), Mrs S. Goldsmith (Christchurch), Mr W. R. Owen (Richmond) Mrs Yardley (Christchurch), A(rs L. R. Hamilton (and children (Wellington), Miss Owen (Wellington). , Mr G. F. Page, the Government Apiary’ Inspector, is visiting Nelson district.
Air David McLachlan, .who died recently at his residence, Bnachville, was very well known and highly respected in Nelson shipping circles, having been in the employ of the Anchor Company both as a marine engineer and in the Company’s foundry. Ho was 71 years of age, having been born at Stoke, his parents coming from Stirling (Scotland). Ihe late Air ATcLachlan was a very old member of the Maitai Lodge of Druids. He is survived by’ a widow and seven daughters, Aliss M. McLachlan Miss D. McLachlan, Aliss G. AlcLachlan, Mrs A. Johnston (Lower Hutt), Mrs C. G. Wells (Waikawa Bay), Mrs E. H. Wilson (Havelock), and Airs AI. Nielson (Port Nelson). At tlie Alanawatu competitions society held at Palmerston North Aliss L. Alacfarlane (Nelson) won the' piano solo, own selection (open), gaining 185 points. There' were 12 competitors. In the instrumental piano solo test (open) Aliss Alacfarlane gained second place. Aliss Alacfarlane will play at 2YA this evening.
