TOWN BOARD MEETING The ordinary meeting of the Tahnnanui Town Board, held in the Town Hall, was attended by Messrs ?F. W, Greenslade (chairman), C. I. LJ Bell, G. Cunningham, J. L. 0. Day/ F. HoberniL. Ingham. Accounts amounting to £lO6 8s 9d were passed for payment. Correspondence was dealt with as follows :

Mr C. M. Hoult’s request for approval of plan of subdivision, part section 82, was granted. The District Highways Council, No. 11, advised that the Main Highways Board would arrive in Nelson on the evening of Wednesday, 30th instant, and should the Board wish to meet it this can be arranged for 7.30 p.m. . The Manager of the A.M.F. Society notified that the loan money had been handed into the Bank of New Zealand and placed to the credit of the Board. * Tlie Tahunanui Fire Brigade submitted a statement of accounts for the year ending 31st March, 1930, also approximate expenditure for the year ending 31st March, 1931, and asked .for a grant to assist in the expenditure. The Electric Light Supply Company sanctioned erection of an electric light polo at Magazine Point. ( A deputation from the Tahunanui Cricket Club waited on the Board, asking for assistance- in raising an amount, sufficient to raise the recreation ground and bring it up to a condition to play cricket on, as in its present condition it was totally unfit for play and the ciub had to go to Nelson to play its matches which was hard on the players and the residents who liked to watch .the game. Mr Sanders went thoroughly into details on the matter and made a special appeal for favourable consideration. Mr Alf. Robinson, president of the Nelson Cricket Association, also attended and asked the Board to do all in its poyrfir to assist the club as it meant a great deal to the young lads as well as the seniors of the district. He was in hopes of getting further assistance from Nelson to as to make the recreation ground a credit to the district.

. The chairman advised the deputation that the Board members were very svmpathetic towards the scheme and the Board would go into the matter pf their request.

Mr Sanders and Mr Robinson thanked the Board for the cordial reception and expressed pleasure that the Board was sympathetic and would favourably consider their request. The following resolutions were passed ? —That an estimate bo obtained for laying of 3in pipes across Main road to give access for water to every four seer tions; that an estimate be obtained for ploughing and scooping Golf road to give access for footpath; that Mr May be asked to inspect the area tn either side of the area covered by his founeij report, and advise if he considers a further survey necessary; that the erader be put on the roads where necessary, ■Jmd that gravel be put on Parker’s road where necessary.
