JUSTIFIABLE HOMICIDE
. WOMAN RELEASED FROM CUSTODY Press Association—By E’eotrio T {degraph—Copyright) SYDNEY, 9th April. The City Coroner found the shooting of John Prendergast by Mrs Barry justifiable homicide. Mrs Barry, cliarg- i ed with murder, was released from custody.
On G7ih March, receiving information that a shop in Surrey Hills, was being raided, the police went there and found John Prendergast, aged 23 years, dying in the yard. He succumbed an hour later in hospital from a bullet wound in the stomach.
Mrs Kathleen Barry, owner of the shop, was arrested and charged with murder. Three men were captured by the police on charges of breaking and entering. The shooting was enveloped in mystery, and no motive could ho ascribed for the raid on the shop.
