WET WEATHER INTERFERES WITH LOADING break in the weather has considerably inconvenienced the loading of export fruit on the Zealandic and it is possible that the vessel will sail short of her quota of 18,500 cases of apples and 11,000 crates of pears. Up to last night 15,000 cases of fruit had been loaded and by to-day all the apples from the Stoke stores will be aboard. However, there are 0000 cases (2000 pears) in Motueka awaiting transshipment. There are two scows waiting to bring the fruit to Nelson but the weather has prevented its removal from the stores. . . It was intended to Tiring the pears to Nelson by motor trucks but floods in the Lower Moutere prevented this. If there is an early improvement in the weather there is a possibility of the fruit being brought across tonight ready for loading in the morning. The Zealandic is due to sail at 6 o'clock in the morning but efforts are being made to hold her until to-mor-row evening.
