PROHIBITION QUESTION
POLL IN VICTORIA "WETS" HAVE BIG LEAD (United Tress Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright) A poll on the question of whether liquor licenses should be abolished throughout the State was taken on Saturday. So far as the counting has gone the figures are: Yes 384,389; No 498,926. Two districts have already voted dry, namely, Booroondara : (yes 10,485, no 8483); and Nunawading (yes 10,231, no 7401). Other electorates where yes votes are at present leading are Brighton, Essendon, Geelong, Goulburn Valley, Kew and Polworlh. The wet votes have a big lead, however, which makes continuance of the license system practically assured.
