AFTER BIG GAMBLING WINS

(United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright)

SAN REMO, 28th March. The disappearance of the London actress Betty Fairfax from Nice, after winning £4OOO at the casino developed into an intriguing chase round Southern Europe. . . It was first thought she was the victim of foul play as she was carrying her winnings. She was recognised at the San Remo casino, where she was again gambling heavily. The casino authorities confirm this and say she was winning between £6OO and £7OO. She again disappeared, and was traced to Bordighera, whereupon she once more disappeared. The police believe she has gone to London.

Her husband, who has been pursuing will-o'-w'sp rumours, is now missing. There is a strong theory tliat Betty has developed the gambling fever and is following a mysterious gambler whoso play she copied at the casino when she had her first big win.
