The spokesmen to-night emphasised that Britain was most anxious to improve peace-keeping machinery, but further commitments were absolutely impossible. While it was recognised thai the attempt lo find :i formula satisfying lo France was extraordinarily difficult there was always the possibility of obtaining a definition satisfactory lo all concerned.
