TAUMARUNUI, This Day
A largely attended meeting of Taumarunui farmers, convened to discuss the menace of'deer, passed the following resolution:.,"That this representative meeting of farmers of Taumarunui district request'the Department of Internal Affairs to make strong representations to the conference of organisations interested in the control of deer in New Zealand, to: be held on 11th April, concerning the serious position that has arisen in this district by the destruction ofiturnip crops and pastures due to the alarming increase in the herd in the district."
