LONDON, 29th March.
Mr Amery, ex-Minister for the Dominions, told a reunion of the Salonika League how he eluded capture after tfie Germans torpedoed the Caledonia, on which he was returning from Salonika. He sought safety in a small boat from which he saw the ship sink. On the submarine's approach he crawled into a little three-cornered space in the stern of the boat. The Germans took General Ravensham and several officers, but missed him.
