FIERCE FIGHT
AT A MISSOURI GAOL NEW YORK, 28th March. A message from .Jefferson City, Missouri, states that a short but violent riot was tho climax to a 24 hours' convict mutiny in the ancient statu prison, when guards, armed with clubs, gas bombs and machine guns in reserve, beat 750 felons into submission in 45 minutes of fierce lighting. The convicts, who complained of tho food, rioted at luncheon. The guards, however, were prepared, and sent 75 convicts to hospital with cracked heads. The guards escaped unscathed.
