EXPORT APPLES
QUOTA FOR OTAKI ASSURED
Apples for export are now coming forward very fast and the Otaki's quota of 55,000 cases for Glasgow and Manchester is assured.
Last night 39,000 cases had been stowed on the vessel and to-day's loading will exceed 11,000. The Nikau brought 4000 cases of precooled from Motueka for loading this morning, and the Te Aroha cleared the port of 2000 cases this morning. The Pearl Kasper brought 3000 cases from Mapua this morning. The Otaki will wait until Friday morning if necessary, otherwise she will sail to-morrow evening. The Mapua receiving shed is at present handling 6000 cases of export fruit per day.
