HAWKE CUP MATCH RANGITIKEI BATTING AGAINST MANAWATU (By !Kelegraph—Press Association) PALMERSON N.. This Day. The Hawke Cup cricket match between Manawatu (holders) and Rangitikei commenced this morning. Rangitikei won the toss and batted, R. Cameron and Barton opening. The runs came slowly, the score being nine after eight overs.
R. Cameron and Barton continued to score slowly until the former was caught when the score was 46. The incomer was D. Cameron. Soon after, Barton was run out when, the score was 61. Hodder was the next batsman. The score at the luncheon adjournment was two wickets for 75: Barton run out 37, R. Cameron, c Baumber, b Greig 18, D. Camcronnot out 12, Hodder not out 6, extras 2.
