NEW ZEALAND WOOL FARMERS' UNION DISCUSSION (By Telegraph—Press Association; WELLINGTON, This Day. The Farmers' Union Executive and sheepowners' representatives had a conference on the question of setting up a wool valuation board here. It was found that there were difficulties in tho way. One was the comparative smallness of New Zealand's output. It was considered that any action must ]be jointly with Australia. It was stated that Sir J. Wiggins, chairman of Bawra, had evolved a scheme but it had been turned down. It was felt that if New Zealand acted by itself buyers might refuse to come. No board therefore will be set up, but enquiries are to; be made in the direction of a reduction of freights. The Farmers' Union Executive agreed to request the Wool Committee to arrange ano:ner wool salo two or three months after the regular calendar in order to prevent a heavy carry over the next season. It also endorsed a suggestion that the Government should call a conference to consider assisting farmers who wish to hold their wool with an advance. The Rural Intermediate Credit Board is considered the body which should undertake the duty.
