DUAL PERSONALITY

AN EXTRAORDINARY CASE DISCLOSURES IN ITALY (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 24th March, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, 22nd March. A sensational case of dual personality causing a man to marry three wives was disclosed by Professor Lonfiglio, of the Academic Lancisiana, Rome. Complete changes occur at intervals of three or four years. First the man is an accomplished musician, patron of the arts, and a man of the world, but suddenly he becomes avaricious and his interests turn to mathematics, while he is completely oblivious of previous occurrences. Thus this man served four years in the war. Then came a change in personality. He found himself in Rome with no knowledge that he had joined the army or that he had married a woman in Messina when a young man. Later he married in Naples when the new personality enveloped him. Then gaining knowledge of his earlier. marriage the man went to Messina to seek his first wife.

He subsequently took a third spouse in Rome, where he was arrested and charged with bigamy. He was confined to a lunatic asylum. Now the facts of his double personality have been disclosed. However, the authorities have been compelled to order his release. On one occasion the man was certified buried when he returned to life.
