COAL TROUBLE
, WITHDRAWAL OF DOLE

SYDNEY, 11th March. The State Cabinet to-day considered the coal situation in the light of the failure of yesterday’s conference. It was announced that it was not proposed to withdraw the miners’ dole until the Government received notification from the owners that the men bad been offered work and refused it. As soon as the Government is satisfied on this point the dole will be withdrawn. The Minister of Minos stated that already 5000 miners had been deprived of the dole.
MORE MINES MAY OPEN
(Received 12th March, 9.36 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Coal mine owners are said to be contemplating opening one or two more mines on the compromise terms agreed upon by the miners’ leaders. It is expected "that Richmond Main will be the first pit where a call for labour will be made.
