ALLEGED INDIAN PLOT
BOMB IN BRITISH MUSEUM

LONDON, 2nd February. Scotland Yard issued a statement that the bomb found in the Indian section of the British Museum undoubtedly contained explosive matter, but to what extent could not be stated until it had been examined by Home Office experts'.
BELIEVED TO BE A HOAX
(Received 4th February, 10.15 a.m.) LONDON, 3rd February. Scotland Yard is still awaiting "the Home Office report on the Museum bomb. It is belie\ed tljat two men were concerned in placing bombs in tlie India section with the object of a hoax, and of obtaining money from a Sunday ewspaper for information. Frank Biggs reported to Scotland Yard that he was reading in the India room when he ■oked down and saw the bomb. He r< titled the officials. The police expect to identify the perpetrators.
