The Indian .Episcopal Synod meeting at Calcutta adopted a new constitution and new canons and rules for the church and adopted a resolution requesting the Government to appoint Ist March as the date for the legal severance of (he Church of India, Burma, and Ceylon from the Church of England. The Synod decided to permit churches to use the revised Prayer Book except the controversial parts of the Communion service.
