The Matangi sails for Wellington direct at 7.30 o'clock this evening. The Arahura arrives from Wellington to-morrow morning and sails on return trip for Wellington direct at 7.30 p.m. The Rata left Greymouth to-day 'or Tarakohe and Wanganni. The Kahika leaves Timar'u to-day and Lytteltoii to-morrow for Wellington and Nelson and is announced to sail for New Plymouth on Friday.

The" Union Company announces that the S.S. Kairanga is due to load at San Francisco and Los Angeles during March for New Zealand ports and is including Nelson as a port of call. The small steamer Gael is discharging a cargo of timber from Hokitika. The auxiliary scow Portland, from Puporiga, is unloading coal.
