GENERAL MEETING HELD

At ii meeting of lh,. Hydro-Electric Committee (lie following members wero present,.—Messrs 11. J. Stewart '(chairman), J. Badcock and M. Cole. The Clerk and Electrical Engineer were also in attendance.

I he Electrical Engineer's report was read, showing installations disconnected and new connections made. It was anticipated that nearly all the installation* disconnected would ultimately be. reconnected. The recent flood had caused considerable damage at (lie. intake. Concerning die qusfcion of installing plant for charging batteries, it was resolved, on the motion of Councillors Badcock and Cole, that if be a recommendation to the Council not to instal this plant. Concerning work at.intake, it was resolved, on the motion of the chairman

and Councillor Badcock, to have the work done. Messrs H. J. Hodgson and Co. wrote re heating for new business premises. The chairman' moved that it bo a recommendation to the Council that heating be supplied either at a contract rate of £3O per annum for up to 6000 units, and Id per unit for all over 6000 units, or at the usual charge of 3d per unit, the current to be metered through a separate-switch board in either case. Seconded by Councillor Badcock and carried. This concluded the business.
