"MAYFAIR" TEA ROOMS

—*«> OPENED THIS AFTERNOON The "Mayfair" tea rooms on the second floor of Messrs F. and D. Edwards's new building, Central Trafalgar street, were opened this afternoon. The proprietresses of the rooms are Mesdames Bowden and Creswell. The tables and furniture are very tastefully arranged, and the colour scheme of light walls and a pretty shade of green poplin curtains and valances, very pleasing. The aisles between the tables, whicb arc oak with glass tops, are covered with green runner carpets. The tables and chairs, which are oak witli pig skin upholstery on the seats, were supplied by Messrs G. Page and Sons. Other furniture was supplied by Messrs E. Buxton and Messrs Karsten and Hay. There is an electric lift (with attendant) to the rooms, which are beautifully lighted and fitted with electric fans to circulate the air. In addition central healing is installed throughout. Mr C. Lee's orchesti'a supplied the music this afternoon and it is intended to have music regularly. On the roof is a garden, part of which is covered with an awning. From this part of tho building a very fine viaw of the town can be/ obtained.*
