NEW TECHNICAL SCHOOL
(To the Editor) Sir.—" Many men, many minds", and whilst being all equally sincere, it is not reasonable that in any matter of public interest or project for the public, good that we should all see eye to eye. Regarding the proposed sue far the new Technical .school, 1 still, think tli.it it' is upon, the whole very suitable, and in coining to tho determination of site 1 quite believe that the lion. the .Minister lor Kducation regarded Nelson anil its needs more with tiii eye on the future than on the present. In this he is wise, taking a large and comprehensive sweep of the enormous potentialities ahead, not only of Nelson but of the Dominion as a whole, in which outlook iwo might do worse than try and emulate him. Nelson will not always and dor ever stick in the same groove. As regards the matter of railway transit for instance it is most unlikely that the present terminus will remain where it is. It will be shifted and it can only lie shifted in one direction and that is sea:wards, in which case it will be much nearer the proposed site of the new Technical College that the present illcontrived siding known as "the Nelson •Railway Station."—l am, etc., OBSERVER, Nelson, 10th April.
