STATEMENT BY CANADIAN LEGATION
NO HASTY MOVE ASCERTAINING THE PACTS (United Pross Association—By HJootrie Telegraph—Copyright) LluHtraliaa Press Association) WASHINGTON, 27th .March. The Canadian Legation to-day clarified its position in connection with the I'm Alone case. It emphasises that il was not defending rum-rimers, but it was determined to have all questions of jurisdiction and rights under treaties mill international law definitely settled. As a result of the incident Canada hopes that the United States will find there is no basis for resisting demands for satisfaction, but if necessary Canada will press the case to international adjudication by arbitration. The Legation officials assorted that there would be no hasty move made, and that it would be a long time before any definite step was taken. It is pointed out that at present the question is decidedly in flic "fact finding" stage.
