FRENCH VESSEL IN STORM CARGO USED IN FURNACES LONDON, 29th January. Tons of peanuts shovelled into the furnaces saved the French cargo steamer Bclgrano (4943 tons), says the Marseilles correspondent of the “Daily Mail.” The vessel, bound from Beirut, exhausted all her coal in fighting a terrific gale, and it was then that the cargo "of peanuts was broached, which enabled the Belgrano to make port in the teeth of the storm.
