A man who admitted his name is James Kelly, was arrested at Thursday Island on a charge of vagrancy. He is being questioned about the Boonjee murder.

A Brisbane message of 7th August last stated : “The builders of a farmhouse at Boonjee, in the Cairns district, discovered the decomposed remains of a man with a terribly battered hea(l which was severed and lying a short distance away in thick scrub, in the vicinity where some fcruhcutters were working some weeks ago. The body has not been identified, hut the police are trying to locate two men, named Walters and Kelly, one of whom recently came from England.”
