TAXATION PROPOSALS

The Attorney-General, Mr Boyce, announced the taxation rates which will be imposed if the Taxation Management Bill is passed. The company tax is graduated, commencing at two shillings in the pound, with a maximum of three shillings on all foreign companies and State companies with taxable income over £6OOO. Supertax of threepence in the pound will be imposed on all companies producing £300,000. Taxation from personal effort'commences at sevenpence, increasing to 4s 3ld where the income is over £20,000. This is expected to yield £770,000.
