LONDON MARKIHS The Department of Agriculture lifts received I lie following cablegram, dated 10th November, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London : Tallow.—Qniet demand lit auction, and prices little easier. Present quotations for spot are:—Mutton: Fine, 'lss Gd to 46s per ewt; fair to good, 43s to 455; dark to dull, 40s 6(1 to 41s. Beei. Sweet and/or mixed, 44s to 48s; fair to good, 42s to 445: dark to dull, 39s to 40s. Mixed: Fair to good, 41s 6d lo 43s 6d; dark to dull, 39s to 40s. Gut etc. : 38s to 40s Gd. Hemp.—Manila market dull and juices lower. "J" grade for November/January shipment quoted £36 10s. sellers. Output Ist Januarv to 31sl October 1,141,000 hales, against 1.032,000 same period last year. (Stocks in Manila on 31st October 147.000 bales, against 177,000 same time last year, and in Great Britain 16,894 bales," against 4774. Sisal market little easier. No. 1 for February/April shipment, sold £3B 10s. Tow: Moderate business has been done. Values are: No. 1, £27 lo £27 10s; No. 2, £25 to £25 10s, according to quality and position. New Zealand : Continued good demand, but little offering. Business reported in highpoints at £33 10s; fair. £3O 10s; and common, £23 15s for November/December shipment. Wool.—Bradford, more business being done in tops, and prices firmer all round. Present quotations for tops are: 64's (merino), warp 4s to 4s o£d per lb average 3s lid to 3s Hid : 56's (super halfbred), 2s 9£d to 2s lOd; 50's, prepared 2s 3£d; 40*s, prepared Is 9,U1.
