South Australia match saw England's bowlers completely subjected by the South Australians Richardson and Pritchard.

There was a good wicket, faster than on the previous days, and the weather was brilliantly hue.

The pair broke the record for a second wicket partnership of 192 for Smun Australia versus England. They attacked vigorously from the start, hitting hard, and were untroubled by the English bowling which presented no difliculties to them. Pritchard and Richardson added 253 for the second wicket in 176 minutes. Pritchard hit eleven fours in a bright forceful display. He was dismissed when attempting to pull White into the grandstand. Richardson made a magnificent showing, hitting hard in all directions. He reached 200 amid wild applause. It was his highest score in first class matches, his previous best being 157 against New South Wales in 1926.

Richardson's prospects of playing in test cricket have been considerably brightened by his innings which lasted 307 minutes' He hit twenty-seven fours.

The departure of Richardson saw a change in South Australia's position. Freeman, bowling again, caused a temporary lot, and took three wickets for three runs.
