WENDY’S LITTLE COOKS
HOW TO MAKE NUT BREAD Try my recipe for nut bread, Wendy ladies. If you -follow instructions very eairefully, I think you’ll like it as much as Tink aiid Billlkins do. Beat one egg very thoroughly, until it is light and frothy; add a quarter of a cupful of fine white sugar, a small ■pinch of salt, one cupful of fresh sweet milk, two cupsful of sieved flour, two .tcaspoonsful of bftking powder, and half a cupful of chopped nuts—walnuts, almonds, or mixed. Thoroughly mix these ingredients, knead the dough lightly with the hands for a moment; put into tins and leave in a warm place to rise for twenty minutes. Bake in a moderate oven. If this small, quantity is a. success, you may double the amount next time.
