' Jack Hood, the British welterweight champion, and Teddy Baldock. bantamweight, remain the unshattered idols of the British prize ring. Eacn won a contest last/ night before record crowds at the Albert Hall. Hood sparred one round and then jumped in and thrashed the big Italian Frattini until the seconds were glad to throw in the towel. Baldock seemed out to prove that his close fight with Phil Lolosky earlier, in the year was a farce. He fought fiercely, and after being cautioned for low hitting, laid out Lolosky with a perfect right to the jaw. TOM HEENEY’S DEPARTURE

Before leaving New Zealand, Tom Heeney, the boxer, sent the following telegram of goodwill, to the Prime Minister and New Zealand: “Kia Ora to you and New Zealand. —Tom Heeney.” The Prime Minister sent the following radio message in acknowledgment: ‘‘Many thanks for message. Bon voyage to you and Mrs Heeney. New Zealand wishes you a good future. ’
