PRICES AT ADDINGTON There were somnwlmt. larger entries of Ta|. sheep and fat. calt.li> and a rmu:li (>)'ealer supply of spring lambs at Addington market- Gins week. Tlio sate was a very keen one (lirougliout, and' there was a marked .advunoo in prices for all classes. There were practically no changes to note in fat sheep values, there being a steady .demand throughout. The large, entry of spring jambs was disposed of at a reduction, of from Is to Is 6<l per head in values. There was rather better tone in the store sheep market. Store cattle met with good competition. Eat and store pigs were easier. A Smaller mixed yarding of store sheep came forward, and there was a hotter sale than the previous week and fewer passings. ’ Adult sheep were"firm at late rates, shorn sheep selling comparatively better than those in wool. Hoggets were inclined to be easier. The best sale of the day was a line of 406 three quarter-bred ewe hoggets, which, made. 40s to 40s 3d, good lialfbred ewe hoggets made to 365, shorn lialfbred ewe hoggets 28s, good three-quarter-bred ewe hoggets 36s to 40s 3d, three-quarter-bred wether hoggets to 31s 7d, lialfbred wethers 33s 7d to 33s'9d, ditto shorn 22s 4d to 25s 3d, three-quarter-bred wethers to 32s 6d, shorn ditto 22s 4d, lialfbred ewes and lambs 20s 3d to 21s 6d, three-quarter-bred ewes and lambs 21s 2d (all counted).

An entry of 307 spring lambs, compared with 240 last week, met with a good Sale at Is to Is 6d per head lower rates. Rest lambs made 33s to 35s 6d, medium 29s to 32s 6d, small 25s Gd to 28s.

Yarding of fat sheep was larger than last week. There was a steady demand throughout, and prices were about on a par with those of the previous week. Extra prime wethers made to 54s 9d, prime wethers 43s to 47s 6d, prime me-dium-weight- wethers 37s to 42s 6d, medium and unfinished 33s 4d to 36s 6d, prime shorn wetlrers 32s to 40s 4d, lighter shorn wethers 27s lOd to 31s 6d ; extra prime ewes to 51s - 4d, prime ewes 36s to 40s, medium ewes 28s to 355, aged and inferior ewes 25s lOd to 27s 6d, shorn ewes 24s 10d to 40s lOd ; hoggets (shorn), 23s Id to 26s 7d. The, yarding of fat cattle totalled 495. The quality' of a large proportion of the offerings was better. The market opened with keen competition and at an advance on the previous week’s rates. The supply, although larger than last week, was evidently not equal to requirements. All classes were in demand right up (n the end of the. sale, and the advance in prices was anywhere from £1 to £2 per head, and in some cases more. Extra prime handy weight steer and heifer beef was equal to 51s to 555, average prime steer beef 47s to 50s, medium 41s 6(1 to 465, plain heavy steer 58s 6d to 43s,'prime, cow and heifer beef 46s to 49s 6d, medium 41s 6d to 455, and rough down to 32s per 1001 b. Good vealers were in short supply and sold well, other sorts showing a decline on last week’s prices. Yearlings to two-year-olds made to £9 18s 6d ; good vealers, £7 to £9; medium vealers, £3 10s to £6 10s ; small calves, 10s to £2 10s.

There was a fair entry' of store cattle, made up as usual chiefly' of cows, with a few big steers and a couple of pens of yearling to eighteen months’ steers and heifers. Three, and four-year-old steers made £lO to £l2; yearling two-year steers and heifers, £4 7s to £4 l’ls; good cows, £5 to £7; medium, £3 to £4 15s; aged cows, 30s to £2 15s; hulls, £5 lo £B. A medium yarding of moderate quality dairy cows met with a good demand at late rates. Best second, third and fourth cal vers made £8 to £l2 15s; medium sorts, £6 to £7 15s: inferior and old cows in profit, £3 to £5 15s; heifers, £5 to £8 ss.

A medium entry of fat pigs sold at slightly easier rales.
