WOULD YOU BE SLIM?
A London doctor recommends to women desiring to he slim the following diet in conjunction with thyroid and pituitary gland extracts. Breakfast.—Two poached (or boiled) eggs; Coffee sweetened with saccharine with two teaspoonfuls of milk. One ounce of bread or rolls without butter. Lunch.—Four ounces of lean meat without starchy gravy. Two ounces of potatoes, ns at dinner, or four ounces of spinach, cabbage, or cauliflower prepared without lmtter. Fresh fruit, four ounces, or fruit stewed, hut sweetened with saccharine. Black coffee. Tea.—'Pea sweetened with saccharine, two teaspoonfuls of milk. One ounce of bread or roll without butter. Dinner.—Cup of bouillon or small plate of clear soup from which the fat has been skimmed, and to which vegetables may be added. Four ounces of lean meat without starchy gravy. Four ounces of potatoes, baked or boiled, without butter. Salad of lettuce, celery, fresli cucumbers, or tomatoes, flavoured with lemon or orange juice. No oil. Four ounces of fresh fruit. No drinking with meals. Amount of fluid taken in the twenty-four hours to lie reduced. Exorcise.—Two miles’ brisk walk daily.
